MULTAN: Collector Customs Adjudication Muhammad Adnan Akram issued Order-in-Original (ONO) for the confiscation of smuggled lubricating oil along with two oil tankers.
As per details, Customs anti-smuggling squad has impounded two different oil tankers bearing registration numbers TLK-160 and TKE-850 during their vigilant patrolling near Sher Shah Bypass Multan.
During checking, ASO team recovered POL products and 125 drums of motor oil. Customs team asked the driver Saad ullah son of Ibrahim Khan and Naseeb-ullah son of Raaz Muhammad to produce documents import documents regarding transportation of motor oil.
The drivers provided fake import GDs to Customs Intelligence staff to satisfy them that they were transporting said motor oil and POL products. Over finding it non-satisfactory, the team impounded the motor oil along with Oil Tankers and forwarded the case to the Customs Adjudication for trial and Collector Customs Adjudication issued show-cause notice to owner for comments
Collector Muhammad Adnan Khan heard the case where respondent failed to provide any substantial evidence regarding the legal import of POL products and motor oil. On verification of produced GDs from respondents, Quetta Customs confirmed that GDs was fake and they were submitted only to cover the smuggled lubricating oil.
Therefore the charges enumerated in the Show Cause notice stand established and total quantity of lubricating oil confiscated outrightly under section 157(2) of the Customs act 1969 along with both trucks. Therefore, the collector Adjudication issued the Order-in-Original.
