MULTAN: M/s General Mills sought exemption from Chief Collector Central Region for Haagen Dazs bulk products sold in retail food service facilities from bearing the new requirements of labeling (Urdu language and Halal logo).
According to details, M/s General Mills has requested Chief Collector Central Region to exempt Haagen bulk products sold in retail. M/s General Mills working in Middle East, North Africa and Turkish company appreciates the efforts of the Government of Pakistan in establishing a robust regulatory framework for food products. Said importer also fully support aim of ensuring local manufacturers and importers deliver high quality and safe products to Pakistan.
General Mills Middle East ,North Africa and Turkey company constantly strive to deliver high quality and safe food products and ensure compliance with all the applicable regulations. Said Importer apprised that our food products named Haagen Dazs bulk ,a package of 7.95 kilogram/9.46 liters is formulated to be served as an ice cream scoop (ball) in the back of kitchen and non-retail food services facilities ( not sold in retail shops ,supermarkets or groceries. Also the bulk labels are not seen by the end consumers.
Haagen Dazs ice cream bulks are supplied to Haagen Dazs shops and served in cafes ,restaurants and cinemas. The bulk labels are not seen by end consumers. Importer asked the Chief Collector Central Region that they needed exemption for the Haagen Dazs bulk products from the new requirements of labelling in Pakistan declared on the labels ( Urdu language and Hilal logo).
All Haagen Dazs products are Halal certified and a Halal certification will be sent along with each bulk shipments.
Secretary Assistant to Chief Collector Customs (Central) Muhammad Ali Asad Khan has directed Customs Collectorate Preventive, Model Customs Collectorate Faisalabad, Customs Collectorate Appraisement Lahore and Customs Collectorate Sialkot to discuss the exemption for Haagen Dazs bulk products sold in retail food service facilities from bearing the new requirements of labellng and submit report to Chief Collector Central Region before 31st August 2019.
