SIALKOT: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has said that imposition of more taxes by the federal government will not be accepted at all.
FPCCI President Zubair Ahmed Malik, in a meeting at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pledged that the chamber would not support tax evaders and said that the people earning wealth should pay their taxes.
Zubair Ahmed Malik said that the FPCCI is playing an active role in presenting problems of trade, industry and environment and safeguarding the interests of the private sector through constant dialogue with the government.
He, talking to the some leading exporters and industrialists of Sialkot, said that the FPCCI has its fingers on the pulse of the economy and serves as a bridge between the private sector and the government. He added that the FPCCI has voiced collective opinion, concern and aspiration of the private sector and offered helpful advice and solid assistance to the government in its efforts to promote exports, encourage foreign investment and stimulate economic activity in the country.
Malik demanded immediate revival of economy. “The increase in dollar value is ruining national economy. The present government has miserably failed to provide any relief to the business community,” he said.
The FPCCI president said that the chamber was working on enhancing trade through diplomacy. “The FPCCI will soon organise a roundtable dialogue on enhancement of global trade with the ambassadors and high commissioners posted in Pakistan. We also plan on organising a conference of all honorary consuls-general based in different cities of Pakistan to seek their cooperation to enhance commercial activities to boost the Pakistan trade,” he said.
