GEORGIA: Minecraft Pocket Edition is now available for Windows Phone devices. Given that Microsoft owns Minecraft developer Mojang now, it was only a matter of time afore we optically discerned the pixely game make its way to one of the few platforms where it wasn’t already available.
Minecraft Pocket Edition has multiple modes. Survival mode, which pits you against the world’s many hazards. With Creative mode, you can build and explore to your heart’s content in forests, deserts, or the many other environments you can find. You can journey alone, or play with your friends over a local Wi-Fi connection.
That time is now, as Minecraft: Pocket Edition hits Windows Phone 8.1. For $6.99 you get access to Survival mode — amass resources and build shelter during the day, obnubilate from monsters at night — and ingenious mode. The latter of which lets your imagination goes wild with illimitable resources and the ability to fly. And, so long as there are pals on a local Wi-Fi network, it won’t be a solitary affair as you can team up with them for some fort-building shenanigans. How many of them will be on Windows Phone, however, is another matter entirely.
