MIANWALI: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Mianwali impounded five door jeep during an action near Toll Plaza M.M Road district Mianwali. The market value of seized vehicle is Rs26,20,320 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs18,20,320.
Sources told Customs Today, that Deputy Collector Muhammad usman received information that some non duty paid vehicles are being used by the people and they are operating the same on the roads of the city.
After receiving information, the deputy collector instructed Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar to depute a team and use all available resources to nab these non duty paid vehicles.
The superintendent and his team comprising Inspector Azhar Hussain jafri, Amir mumtaz Bajwa and sepoys Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Mansha, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Ashraf and others started checking of vehicles.
The ASO team intercepted a jeep Grand Cherokee bearing registration No, PE-935 Islamabad in white colour.
The team asked the owner Muhammad Changaz Khan son of Muhammad Janis to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle. But he could not produce any relevant documents. After his failure ASO team confiscated the vehicle and forward the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
