ISLAMABAD: Member Customs Operations Jawwad Awais Agha inaugurated the customs house library and waiting area at the MCC Islamabad.
According to details told by Seema Raza Bokhari, the Collector MCC (model customs collectorate) Islamabad, pursuing the directions of FBR regarding enhancement of the infrastructure and its maintenance, the MCC Islamabad has taken this initiative in this regard. The MCC Islamabad is the first one to take the initiative.
She said that in this regard the MCC Islamabad arranged an inauguration event under supervision of Chief Collector North Asif Mehmood Jah. The ceremony was arranged at MCC Islamabad where Member Customs inaugurated the library and cut the ribbon. She added that Jawwad Awais Agha visited premises of Collectorate and appreciated the efforts of MCC Islamabad.
She told that the FBR has issued a circular wherein the directions of Chairman FBR have been conveyed to all the Field Offices of Customs to ensure basic facilities at field offices. Telling the details of the circular she said that the Chairman FBR has directed all the field offices to extend necessary courtesy and respect to the visiting taxpayers and people.
It has been directed to ensure proper sitting areas and availability of drinking water for the visitors. The cleanliness must be ensured in the office premises. A separate parking area may be marked for the officers, tax practitioners, chartered accountants and lawyers. CCTV cameras may be monitored regularly and security arrangements may strictly be ensured. All the field officers are directed to monitor arrangements in their respective premises.
Moreover, the circular further says that all the field officers may become a part of Governments clean and green campaign and plant trees in the office vicinity and residential colonies. The spot choking will be conducted by Board officers any time to ensure implementation of all the arrangements.
