GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate Gilgit-Baltistan generated Rs96.07million extra revenue during the first four months and 15 days (July to 15th of November) of Financial Year 2017-18 under the heads of all duties and taxes against the revenue of the same period of corresponding Financial Year 2016-17.
According to details explained by Collector Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Ali Raza while talking to Customs Today that, during above said period, the GB performed well by receiving revenue. During the 1st of July to 15th of November 2017-18, the collectorate got Rs1703.53million under all the heads while it did Rs1607.46million of all taxes during the same period of FY16-17.
The collector was told that, during above said period, the Collectorate of GB showed 5.98% growth against the same period of previous Financial Year 2016-17. The Collectorate of GB collected surplus revenue with Rs14.17million as all duties and taxes during three months and 15 days (July to 15th October) of Financial Year 2017-18 against the revenue collection during the same period of Financial Year 2016-17.
The Collector of GB stated that, during 1st of July to 15th of October FY17-18, it earned Rs1153.62million of all taxes whereas it did Rs1139.45million under the same head during July to 10th of October of Fiscal Year FY16-17.
The collectorate said that some important projects of development for Collectorate of GB are in the pipeline that Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib is personally monitoring. Sooner or later, funds will be allocated as they are important projects to earn more revenue and promote bona fide trade.
