KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-Exports (Port Muhammad Bin Qasim) has missed the revenue collection target of Rs 4,124.49 million for the fiscal year 2014-15. It collected Rs 3,791.93 million during the fiscal year.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had tasked the MCC-Export Port Muhammad Bin Qasim to collect Rs 4,124.49 million revenue under the head of customs duty in the fiscal year 2014-15.
However, the same could not be achieved, sources told Customs Today. The sources said that MCC-Exports Port Muhammad Bin Qasim faced a shortfall of Rs 332.56 million to the national kitty.
In the fiscal 2013-14, a target of Rs 6163.94 million however the officials failed to ensure the collection of customs duty and only Rs 3269.52 million was collected with a major shortfall of revenue, sources added. The collection of zero was made on the last working day of the fiscal year 2014-15.
