ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad has been taking strict security measures around all of its customs stations to foil any terrorist mishap for the last couple of weeks.
Assistant Collector Amanat Khan told Customs Today that he himself ordered all the security staff for checking all the vehicles, even bearing government number plates. “All the traffic must be checked thoroughly”, assistant collector advised his security staff to also park the vehicles outside the premises of the dry port.
Back gate of dry port, which opens towards the Islamabad railway station, has been also sealed because there is no security guard and paddlers roam on the premises of the dry port without permission, he added.
Customs House Officer Shahrukh Butt of the MCC Islamabad told Customs Today that ‘we have ordered all the private vehicle owners to park their vehicles outside the premises of the MCC since guns have also been provided to the guards of the building. No one can enter the MCC building without body search and showing his/her identity.
