KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement (West) has decided to take up the disciplinary cases which have been filed against the different importers and parties, it was learnt here on Thursday.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector MCC-Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem has directed the authorities concerned of the Collectorate to open the cases which have been filed against the different importers during the year i.e.2013-14 and send a comprehensive report regarding the development by the first week of the next month.
They further disclosed that the Collectorate has received special directives from the FBR high-ups in order to start due action against the disciplinary cases registered in the Collectorate during the fiscal year 2013-14. “The authorities concerned of the MCC-Appraisement (West) will follow the cases which are in pending in Sindh High Court (SHC) and any other court of law for further legal action,” they added.
The sources further revealed that the authorities concerned after deciding the fate of the disciplinary cases will issue demand notices against the convicted parties in order to collect legitimate revenue. “The said action is to be taken in order to keep the revenue generation into mind and achieve the revenue target by the end of second quarters of the current Fiscal year 2014-15,” they informed.
