COPENHAGEN: The average vessel size on the AE9 service, operating between the Asia – Mediterranean trade, will be reduced from 9,500 TEU to 6,500 TEU – with the reduction in capacity mainly impacting Mediterranean. This development will meet both current and anticipated demands.
Furthermore, our adjustments to the network will provide us with a more seasonal network, which will allow us to adjust capacity to demand without impacting the product and reliability we offer to customers. The changes to the network will apply equally to both VSA partners on the East – West Network, and are anticipated to be fully effective by the middle of Quarter 3, 2015. Maersk Line is currently putting the finishing touches on the revised rotations and full service details. These are subject to regulatory requirements, and we will communicate the changes as soon as possible.
