LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) sought reply from the Secretary Excise and Taxation within two weeks in the luxury tax case.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the appeal filed by a resident of Wapda Town Saboor Rizvi in which the counsel for appellant argued that the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has imposed luxury tax on the two canal house that is illegal as the taxpayers paying already property tax are not bound to pay the luxury tax.
The counsel for the appellant prayed to the court that it may declare null and void the tax notice served by the Excise and Taxation Department.
After hearing the arguments from the appellant, the Lahore High Court seeks reply from the Excise Department within two weeks.
