LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) seeks a notification of the Tax Amnesty Scheme approved by the federal cabinet. The case has been adjourned for a month for further hearing.
Justice Shahid Jameel Khan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the case filed by Advocate Sheraz Zaka on the Tax Amnesty Scheme introduced for the business community.
The counsel for complainant argued that the government has introduced the Tax Amnesty Scheme to exempt those businessmen who have evaded tax. Instead of arrest of the tax evaders, the government launched a scheme to exempt the tax evaders.
He prayed to the Lahore High Court (LHC) to declare null and void the Tax Amnesty Scheme by the government of Pakistan.
On the other side, the attorney told the court that the Tax Amnesty Scheme has been introduce to bring business community in the tax net.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the LHC adjourned case for a month and sought cabinet’s approval and notification for the Tax Amnesty Scheme.
