LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered appellant to approach Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in case filed against the difference between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Parliamentarian Tax Directory and income tax information shared by FBR with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
On 25.3.2019, Justice Furrukh Irfan, heard the petition filed by Muhammad Hussain in which the counsel for appellant Shahbaz Akmal Jandran argued that there is major difference between the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Parliamentarian Tax Directory and income tax information shared by FBR with Election Commission of Pakistan.
Moreover, according to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Parliamentarian Tax Directory and income tax information published by Election Commission of Pakistan, income tax paid by 17 federal ministers is different.
There is major difference in tax details of Federal Minsters like Shah Mehmood Qurashi, Sheerin Mazari, Khusru Bakhtyar, Shafqat Mehmood, Shiekh Rasheed Ahmed, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Khalid Maqbool Siddique and others, he added.
He prayed before the court that court may order to FBR to correct the tax directories to avoid misunderstanding of general public.
After hearing the arguments LHC decided the case and ordered petitioners to approach FBR.
