LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has admitted a petition for hearing against tax amnesty scheme and directed the Ministry of Finance to submit a reply on the issue on March 17. The petition was filed by Advocate Sheraz Zaka.
According to details, Justice Shahid Karim heard the plea in which the appellant argued that the the federal government had introduced the tax amnesty scheme only to secure the black money of tax defaulters by providing them relief and exemptions from filing tax returns and audit.
The appellant appealed the court to declare the tax amnesty scheme as null and void and suspend the implementation of the scheme.
After hearing the arguments of the counsel of appellant, the court sought replies from the Ministry of Finance on the legal grounds of the tax amnesty scheme on March 17.
