LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the case against luxury tax until 27 November.
In the last hearing on 10 November, Excise and Taxation Department lawyers and the Punjab chief secretary sought more time to submit their replies.
The court has now extended the stay order and adjourned the case until 27 November.
Excise Secretary Khalid Masood Chaudhry and Punjab Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema haven’t submitted their replies in the court, asking more time for submission of reply.
The Punjab government has imposed the luxury tax on two or more than two kanal houses. Several citizens took stay order against the tax and the LHC is hearing the case. As many as 70 applications have been filed in the LHC against the luxury tax.
