BEIJING: The LG G3 was one of the best smartphones to launch in 2014, and we’re expecting something even better from the company next year. Now, a new report out of China claims the LG G4 may come with some fancy new features.
According to the usual anonymous sources, the LG G4 will take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 with a stylus of its own. The report also points to recent LG trademarks for a “G Pen” product and potential “G Scrawl” software. It’s also worth noting that LG actually tried the same thing earlier this year with the G3 Stylus, though that device only launched in select markets.
The report claims the device could sport a 5.3-inch 2K display, though that seems unlikely considering the G3 already packs a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440-pixel screen. The upcoming smartphone may also offer 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, a Snapdragon 810 processor, a 20.7-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and a 3500mAh battery. It’s also set to run Android 5.0 Lollipop.
We wouldn’t be too shocked to see the LG G4 pack a stylus of some sort, so it’s possible this rumor will come to fruition. It’s also worth noting that the device probably won’t launch until spring 2015 (a year after the G3 made its debut in May 2014), so the company still has plenty of time to work out the details for its next flagship phone.
