LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has urged the government to deal with the conspiracies against China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) through stringent proactive measures as this project is gaining the attention of entire world. Antagonists of this project are actually the enemies of progress and prosperity of the entire region.
In a statement issued here, the LCCI acting President Amjad Ali Jawa and Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan said that anti-Pakistani elements are working days and nights to hamper the economic growth of Pakistan. They said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project would start a new era of economic development, not in Pakistan but in South Asia.
“China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should not be seen as an ordinary project as it would connect a number of country and being a hub of this project Pakistan would be more beneficiary than the others in many counts”, the LCCI office-bearers added and said that anxiety among anti-Pakistan elements of China Pakistan Economic Corridor is an ample evidence of the enormous importance and usefulness of this mega project therefore this project should be completed at any cost.
They said that security forces deserve appreciation for sacrificing for the cause of the country. They said that those anti-social elements should be tackled with iron hands that are doing conspiracies against CPEC. They urged the government to ensure timely completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it is bound to turn Pakistan into a great investment destination. The LCCI office-bearers said that CPEC should be handled with extra care.
They said that it will not be wrong to say that the economic benefits of this project are hard to estimate. China is investing more than 46 billion dollars in this connection. This project has the potential to work as a big push theory of economics.
They said that although both the governments are closely collaborating in this project, at the same time, the private sectors of Pakistan and China are going to have a bigger role to play in this mega project.
The LCCI office-bearers said that the CPEC is an overall cooperation platform with a focus on the long-term development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
They said that this mega project should be completed at any cost, as it has the undoubted potential to turn Pakistan into a pivot of regional cooperation. They said if Pakistan used this opportunity wisely, the CPEC would enable it to harvest the economic benefits, which can considerably strengthen its regional power and esteem and prove the country as the priceless long-term ally for Beijing. This project would also bring development and prosperity to the people of around ten developing nations.
