PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, received 27 complaints during a public hearing here on Friday.
According to a statement, the people belonging to different walks of life submitted the complaints directly to NAB KP (chapter) Director General Farmanullah Khan.
The complaints were against various government departments, private business firms, and illegal housing schemes. The members of complaints scrutiny committee were also present to evaluate the complaints.
On the occasion, the director general stressed the need that general public should submit complaints with solid proofs so that action could be taken against the accused persons as per the relevant laws and without wastage of time.
He said the public hearing every month was meant to receive all kinds of complaints mainly pertaining to cheating public, land grabbing, illegal housing schemes, bank frauds and bribery.
DG Farmanullah assured the complainants that transparent inquiry would be carried out into all the complaints and action would be taken in accordance with the law. He said NAB could not alone overcome the menace of corruption unless people extended cooperation.
