PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister for Finance, Muzaffar Syed has said that the total volume of the upcoming financial budget for the year of 2015-16 would be Rs 472 billion, out of which Rs 124 billion has been allocated for Annual Development Program (ADP).
Addressing a pre-budget conference at cabinet room, Muzaffar Syed said that it has been planned that total 10,000 vacancies would be created in education department only. He said that budgetary allocation for health sector has been increased up to 19 percent while 51 percent increase would be made in social sector.
The Finance Minister mentioned that the incumbent government will spend 90 percent of its budget till the end of June which is the last month of current fiscal year. He added that in the new budget allocation of police department would be increased up to 14 percent while allocation of judiciary will increased up to 13 percent.
The minister further said total one lakh fifty nine thousand jobs would be created in all departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to statistics provided by the planning and development department officials, the elementary and secondary and health departments had managed to only use 32 percent of their ADP funds by April.
“Health and education are our priorities. We will press these departments to not only spend previously allocated sums but also work towards new schemes,” said the minister, adding un-utilized funds will be carried forward in the new fiscal year.
