KARACHI: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I has re-fixed the date of hearing into the tax evasion case linked with M/s Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and the officials concerned of the Collectorate has fixed fresh date of May 28, 2015 (today) into the case, it is learnt here.
According to details, the authorities concerned of the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I have fixed the hearing date of May-26 into the tax evasion case; but later the authorities concerned of the Collectorate came into the notice that the departmental representative of M/s PTCL Pervez Iqbal Kassi, the former Collector was not able to attend the hearing, as he was not present in the City.
The authorities concerned of the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I through the notice have also intimated the departmental representative of the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation FBR Saud-ul-Hasan about the change in hearing schedule.
The sources informed this scribe that there is a possibility of change the hearing fixture into the tax evasion case further, as the departmental representative of M/s PTCL Pervez Iqbal Kassi may acquire more time to prepare his para-wise comments into the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR was constituted a tax evasion case against the importer M/s PTCL, its clearing agents and contractor in their alleged involvement in evading millions of rupees duty/taxes on import of telecommunication machinery and equipments through Green channel.
