AMMAN: Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yaroub Qudah discussed with Bangladeshi Minister of Industry Mohammad Amir Hossain, means to forge closer economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
The two ministers highlighted the need for joint work to strengthen economic ties between Jordan and Bangladesh, and encourage the private sector from both countries to benefit from trade and investment opportunities in the two countries.
Qudah voiced Jordan’s keenness to enhance its economic ties at the international level within the policy of economic openness adopted by the Kingdom.
He said that Jordan was able, thanks efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to sign last July a deal with the EU stipulating relaxed rules of origin that would increase exports to European markets.
The minister urged Bangladeshi businessmen to benefit from investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
The Bangladeshi minister stressed his country’s interest to promote economic cooperation with Jordan, and exchange expertise in various domains.
