TOKYO: Japan’s gross domestic product grew 0.1% on the month in November, the Japan Center for Economic Research said Monday.
Exports rose 1.6% while imports fell by 0.6%, the think tank reported. External demand, or the difference between exports and imports, lifted GDP growth by 0.4 percentage point.
Consumer spending slipped 0.1%, falling for the third straight month. Capital spending dropped 1%. Altogether, domestic private-sector demand was a 0.2-point drag on GDP.
