ISLAMABAD: The International Mail Office (IMO) Islamabad collected Rs450000 more Duty Taxes during 1st to 15th of June’s Financial Year (FY) 2016-17 than the revenue collection of the same period during May FY16-17.
Assistant Collector IMO Ali Asad told Customs Today that during the initial 15 days of June FY16-17, the IMO generated Rs1.4million against the assigned revenue collection target under all the heads amounting to Rs2.4million.
The IMO Islamabad earned Rs900000 during initial 15 days of May’s Financial Year (FY) 2016-17. The IMO was assigned with the target for said complete month undervalue Rs2.00million during the last quarter (April to June) FY16-17. The assigned revenue collection targets are high against the targets of first three quarters (July to March) Fy16-17.
Last month, the Collector Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad called a meeting of all the custom stations working under jurisdiction of MCC Islamabad. He said that during said meeting, the Collector appreciated the performance of the IMO during the last 10 months (July to April 16-17) and is optimistic that the IMO will chase the revised revenue collection target for May and June FY16-17.
Ali Asad said that during first 15 days of current month, the IMO showed good performance. He added that there were additional holidays during May but the IMO will chase its revised target with the surplus amount against the assigned target for May 2016-17.
Telling details of last 10 months (July to April FY16-17), he said the IMO exceeded almost all the assigned revenue targets for initial 10 months of current financial. The IMO received Rs2.09million against the allocated target for April FY16-17 and the IMO generated Rs2.4million against the earmarked target of Rs2.00million for March.
During the month of February, the IMO got Rs1.90million against the target of Rs1.4million. During the month of January, IMO collected Rs1.89million against the target of Rs1.5million whereas the IMO received Rs1.81million during December against the target of Rs1.5million.
During the month of November FY16-17, the IMO generated Rs1.80million against the assigned target of Rs1.47million while the IMO did Rs1.81million against the allocated target of Rs1.3million during October and the IMO got Rs1.64million during September against the revenue collection target of Rs1.64million.
During the month of August FY16-17, the IMO received Rs1.47million against the earmarked target of Rs1.46million while IMO did Rs1.13million against the assigned target of Rs1.13million during July FY2016-17.
