ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs is trying hard to recover pending dues of Rs 1063.15 million from ten top defaulters.
A Customs official informed Customs Today that Collectorate of Customs Islamabad is pursuing various cases of recovery in different forms, adding that there are 10 main defaulters the MCC (Model Customs Collectorate) Islamabad is mainly focusing because of huge pending amount status.
Telling the details of major defaulters, the source said that Rs 882.094 million are pending against M/s National Institute of Health which imports vaccine, adding that in the said case it found that the documents for examinations of duty claimed by the unit was established fake. This case is pending at Federal Adjuster for adjustment of outstanding Government dues.
The 2nd case was initiated by Directorate of I&I (intelligence and investigation) Islamabad on previous clearances. The case is pending in Appellate Tribunal, in this case Rs 71.210 million of revenue is involved and to be paid by Universal Gateway, adding that rest of 08 number of cases comprised Rs 22.900 million arrears from M/s Eagle Industries (Pvt) Ltd and Rs 17.800 million from M/s Friends Trading.
The sources informed that M/s Amson Vaccine has to pay Rs 17.500 million whereas M/s Farm Power International Rs 13.300 million as well as M/s Gadoon Synthetics has to pay Rs 12.400 million, M/s Laguardia Logistics (Pvt) Rs 9.200 million and Rs 5.769 million by M/s Khan Traders.
