LAHORE: The International Customs Day will be observed today throughout the world under the umbrella of the World Customs Organization (WCO).
Pakistan Customs, an active member of the WCO is going to celebrate International Customs Day across the country.
A flag hoisting ceremony and destruction of contraband goods will also be organized at Customs House, Lahore by the officers of Pakistan Customs of Central Region. All officers of Pakistan Customs from field formations of Central Region will attend the ceremony and Chief Collector Zeba Haye will be the chief guest, according to sources.
The ceremony will be started with recitation of the Holy Quran. Later on Chief Collector Zeba Haye, Collector Jamil Ahmad Khan and Faiz Ahmad will also participate in the event. The chief guest will distribute certificates among officials for performing meritorious performance.
After culmination of ceremony all guests and participants will move to Wagha Boarder Terminal, Wagha for destruction of contrabands goods and drugs seized by the Customs including drugs publicly, liquor, banned medicines, cigarettes, fire crackers, Ghutka, poppy seed, expired soft drinks etc.
