LAHORE: The federal interior secretary has nominated two assistant directors of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from Lahore to confer civil awards on them for their outstanding works in recent investigations in some of the important cases.
According to a notification of the Interior Ministry, the names of Assistant Directors Amanullah Khan and Ijaz Ahmed Ch have been forwarded by the secretary to Cabinet Division for further process to confer Sitara-e-Imtiaz on them.
Amanullha Khan in a petroleum levy case managed to recover around Rs 5 billion from petroleum companies. More recovery is also expected in the further probe in the case.
Similarly, Ijaz Ahmed Ch, a few months back, had exposed a scam of alleged illegal administration of unregistered/illegal stents to cardiac patients in Mayo Hospital, Lahore, which jolted the entire health system of the country, particularly in Punjab . Later, Supreme Court of Pakistan also took a suo motu notice of the issue.
