Indian police arrest three drug smugglers

JAMMU: In two separate cases, Katra Police has seized Smack and Poppy Straw from three drug smugglers, who were arrested during special Nakas in the town.

Acting on specific information, a Police party, led by SHO Katra, Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, under the supervision of SDPO Dr Ashok Sharma and Addl SP Katra Sumir Kotwal, laid a special naka on outskirts of Katra town near PCP Moori. During checking, Police apprehended two drug peddlers namely Parvinder Singh of Simbal Camp Jammu and Navdeep Singh of   Simbal Camp Jammu.  Eight gms of Smack was recovered from their possession.

In this connection, case FIR No 205/2015 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is in progress.

In another success, Katra Police arrested one more drug peddler during checking near PCP Balini. The accused, identified as Mohd Altaf of Bhagtha Katra, was carrying   900 gms Poppy Straw (Bhuki), which was seized by the Police.

In this connection, case FIR No. 206/2015 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
