ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear a couple of tax references on Thursday (today) involving Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The IHC division bench comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah will hear the references filed by M/s Alcatel Lucent Pakistan Limited and Messer Nowshera.
M/s M/s Alcatel Lucent Pakistan Limited had filed the tax reference against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue. The appellant had challenged a decision announced by the tribunal before the IHC. The company had also nominated officers of LTU in the petition among respondents.
Messer Nowshera had filed the tax reference against the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad. The appellant had submitted that the show cause notice issued to him in head of sales tax was illegal and was based on malafide intentions.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including Commissioner Inland Revenue, and Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and ATIR were made respondent in the case.
