ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear a tax reference today (on Friday) filed by Pakistan Mobile Telecommunication Limited seeking to restrict the Federal Board of Revenue from recovering outstanding tax amount of around Rs 98.87 million along with default surcharge of Rs 30.5 million.
A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq will hear the case. The appellant had prayed the court to direct the ATIR to resume hearing on his stay application and restrict the FBR from recovering the said amount from its bank accounts.
The appellant had challenged a recovery order of Large Taxpayers’ Unit, dated July 30, 2015. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), ATIR and LTU’s officers were made party in the case.
