ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Federal Service Tribunal on Wednesday reserved decisions on complaints about ‘promotion’ filed by employees of the Federal Board of Revenue.
The Federal Service Tribunal bench comprising Member Rafique Shah and Dr Nazir heard a couple of promotion cases filed by Saleem Akbar and M Aslam. The bench reserved the decisions on the said cases while adjourning the hearing on other matters.
Other than the said cases, members Rafique Shah and Dr Nazir heard an implementation case filed by Muhammad Slaeem, and another ‘current charge’ case filed by Iqbal Minhas.
The bench also heard some other promotion cases filed by Sajjad Ahmed, Ghulam Akbar Chandio, Sohail Ahmed Qureshi, Sajjad Ahmed and others. They had filed the cases challenging administrative measures taken by the board regarding promotion of appellants.
Through ‘promotion’ cases, the appellants had filed petitions carrying complaints about un-granted promotion by the board. They had prayed the tribunal to direct the board to award them their rightful promotion which they had not been granted despite serving for years at the board.
The appellants asked the tribunal to take notice of undue delay regarding their promotion by the board and issue necessary directives to the board in their cases.
The appellants had prayed the tribunal to hold speedy hearing of their complaints and dispose them office at the earliest in order to bring justice to them.
Ishtiaq Ahmed and Dr Nazir Saeed adjourned hearing of four implementation matters filed by Waseem Iqbal, Anjum Waheed and Said Hussain. These cases were filed recently and no objection was filed by the department in this regard.
