ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court’s division benches adjourned the hearing of some important tax matters during the first week of October.
The IHC division benches comprising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah, and Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard these cases.
The former heard the reference challenging recovery notice of Rs 9,223,769 issued by Large Taxpayers’ Unit, Islamabad. The hearing was adjourned to second week of October.
M/S Huawai Technologies Private Limited’s tax reference, challenging recovery of Rs 502,408,906 made by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), was also heard by the same bench and adjourned till October 10.
The appellant had challenged the act of recovery of said amount by Commissioner Inland Revenue of Large Taxpayer’s Unit, Islamabad.
A division bench of Islamabad High Court adjourned hearing of a tax reference involving Federal Board of Revenue and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue on Thursday.
The later bench heard the case of M/s Pakistan Oil Field Limited which had filed the reference against ATIR and had challenged it announcement before the court. FBR field office, Large Taxpayers Unit’s officers were also made respondent in the case.
The appellant had submitted that ATIR had maintained decision of LTU adjudication in ignorance of law and the appellant’s submissions were not addressed completely challenging recovery of outstanding tax amount. Hearing of this case was adjourned to October’s third week.
