IHC orders United Trade Express Danymore to pay Rs1.278m duty

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected a plea by Malik Muhammad Iqbal, owner of the United Trade Express Danymore, and ordered him to pay Rs 1.278 million duty on goods.

Iqbal, a resident of Gilgit, had challenged the decision of the Federal Tax Ombudsman that his goods were destroyed in customs warehouse in Rawlapindi during floods.

Following the IHC orders, MCC Islamabad has issued recovery orders in this regard.
