ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday directed the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) to resume hearing of M/s Witribe Pakistan Limited’s application, challenging recovery notice of Rs 4.371 million and disposed of the case. The Large Taxpayers’ Unit had issued a notice to the company for the recovery of Rs 1.849 million as income tax and Rs 2.522 million as other charges.
A single bench of the IHC comprising of Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case, restricting the LTU from recovering the said amount from the appellant.
The LTU had issued the order stating the recoverable outstanding tax of Rs 4.371 million for the tax year 2009. The order was issued under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), LTU’s Chief Commissioner, Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals), Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue and ATIR were made party in the case.
