ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the hearing of four tax references, seeking a stay on tax recovery actions of the Large Taxpayer’s Unit (LTU).
The bench, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, was hearing tax references, seeking a stay order against expected recovery action by the LTU as they had already exhausted a 180-day stay granted by the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).
The court office will now set a next date of hearing for all the four cases.
These references had been filed by M/s Orient Power Company (Private) Limited, M/s Saba Power Company (Private) Limited, M/s Fauji Kabirwala Power Company (Private) Limited and M/s Infertility Services (Private) Limited.
The appellants had sought court’s directive on restricting LTU from recovering taxable amounts from their accounts.
