PESHAWAR: The Intelligence and Investigation Wing of the Customs, Federal Board of Revenue Peshawar, is working with a keen interest to curb the smuggling and eliminate the business of Non-Duty-Paid vehicles in the country for which strict directions have been issued by the Collector Peshawar Customs.
The I & I Wing of Customs of the FBR Peshawar has taken into possession 22 Non-Duty-Paid vehicles during 13 days of January in the current Financial Year 2017-18 by executing different actions throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The sources of I&I Wing of the Customs FBR informed Customs Today the other day that these vehicles were impounded upon the prior tip-offs given by the high-ups at the Customs Department.
The I&I Wing also confiscated NDP items worth millions of rupees during first 13 days of January by carrying out 60 various executions throughout the province which will add a revenue of millions of rupees to the customs exchequer when they will be auctioned off in the last week of January.
The NDP goods consist of pad lockers, polyester cloth, black tea, almonds without shell, almond with shell, walnuts, kishmish, pistachio, bearings, Jersey cloth, INTERTRAC tyres, BIRLA tyres, curtain cloth along other contraband goods seized by the I&I Wing during January of current FY 2017-18.
The seized NDP items also include Milano cigarettes, Napoli cigarettes, ZEN Cigarettes, Lips Cigars Dunhill Cigarettes amongst other electronic and technical goods impounded by the I&I Wing Peshawar during first 13 days of January.
Talking to Customs Today, senior Inspector of I&I Peshawar Abdur Rehman said that, few days ago, the Customs team raided a storage house at Peshawar where hundreds of tons of NDP items were confiscated along a number of arrests were also made.
