HYDERABAD: The Field Intelligence Unit Hyderabad (FIU) has seized Indian origin 120 sacks of black-pepper worth Rs03.3 involving duty/taxes of Rs957593 during an action at Hala Naka in Hyderabad.
The Field Intelligence Unit of Customs Intelligence conducted a raid following a tip-off received through customs intelligence of Karachi Director Tahir Qureshi to curb the smuggling.
The FIU Hyderabad team, comprising Deputy Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi, Intelligence Officers Irfan Ghani, Sepoys Muhammad Imran, Noshad Khan, Sikander Malaha, Azam Ali Chandio, Driver Rao Abdul Sattar, Janib Crob, Hanif Somroo and other staff, intercepted a public transport vehicle near Hala Naka Hyderabad and recovered the abovementioned item.
The officials asked the driver to show the documents regarding the customs clearance but he could not do the same. The FIU seized the contraband item. The item was being transported from Karachi to Rawalpindi. A case was registered according to the customs bylaws.
