HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Field Investigation Unit (FIU) seized various non-duty paid goods worth Rs 17.5 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs5.1 million during the month of December 2016 in different. The seized goods include school bags, ladies handbags, art silk cloth, tyers & shoes, black pepper, electronic items, LED lights, cigarette, diesel, white oil and CNG cylinders.
According to details, Customs FIU following the directions of I&I Director General Shaukat Ali and Director Customs Feroz Alam Junejo foiled various attempts of transportation of smuggled goods. During the month of December 2016 FIU confiscated 4 cartons of Ruby Slim cigarette worth Rs 200, 000 involving duty/ tax amounting to Rs 79,668, 45 cartons of decoration LED lights (Jhaler) worth Rs 4.1 million involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs 2 million, 16, 000 liters Iranian origin diesel worth Rs1.21 million along with offending oil tanker bearing registration No SWN -133 valuing Rs 3 million, 24 drum of white oil worth Rs 650, 000 involving duty and taxes Rs 230, 547, CNG cylinder 27 pieces worth Rs 405, 000 involving duty and taxes Rs 3,00,406.
Sources told that FIU also seized foreign origin art silk cloth 2, 255 kg worth Rs 1.59 million involving duty and taxes Rs 129, 662, school bags 50 bundles worth Rs 2.2 million involving duty and taxes Rs 1.5 million, foreign origin black pepper 50 bundles worth Rs 3 million involving duty and taxes Rs 877, 796, ladies handbags 41 boras worth Rs 378, 996, tyers and shoes worth Rs 682, 400 during the above said period.
The FIU teams contributed in the above said operations under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Qaim Ali Alvi, comprised Inspector Irfan Ghani, Inspector Anees Khan, Inspector Ahmed Hussain Junejo, Sepoys Moin Khan, Noshad Khan, Muhammad Imran, Azam Ali Chandio, Aslam Chohan, Sikandar Mallah, Mussarat Shah, Ghayas Ahmad Shah, Hawaldar Rao Abdul Sattar, drivers Muhammad Haneef Somroo and Rao Abdul Sattar.
