HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Hyderabad has generated Rs210.454million Customs Duty and taxes during the first week of March 2017.
The department collected Rs57.583million Customs duty, Rs149.864million Sales Tax, Rs0.250million Federal Excise Duty, Special FED on imports and Rs2.757million Withholding Tax (WHT) during the abovementioned period.
The major tax sources remained Hyderabad Dry Port State Warehouse, Sukkur and Larkana division, Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, Crescent Steel, Omni Polymer Industries, Rema Cooking Oil and Pakistan State Oil.
The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) also seized non-duty paid goods worth million of rupees during the first week of March 2017.
Under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, Additional Collector (HQ) Rehmatulah Vistro, Additional Collector Omar Shafique, Deputy Collector Shahid Ali Abbasi and Superintendent Statistical Revenue Muhammad Yaqoob Pasha played important roles in revenue collection, officials said.
The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Hyderabad State Warehouse, has fetched Rs1.5million to the national exchequer through auction of smuggled items in the month of February 2017.
The one impounded vehicle Toyota Surf and other goods, including Rani Juices, contraband cigarettes and decoration lights, earned Rs1.4 million through auction including duty and taxes during the month of February 2017.
Model Customs Collectoratete State Warehouse Hyderabad Assistant Collector Shahid Iqbal and his team comprised Deputy Superintendent Syed Saleem Shah, Inspectors Abdul Rauf Qureshi, Saleem Ajmeri, Allauddin Qaim Khani and Hawaldar Muhammad Hussain.
