HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Hyderabad impounded a foreign origin non-duty-paid Wrangler Jeep without registration worth Rs01million involving duty and taxes of Rs01.4million in a crackdown during the month of June 2017.
Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq received a tip-off about a non-duty-paid and without registration vehicle. He immediately constituted a special team under the supervision of Additional Collector Rahmatullah Vistro.
The ASO team started searching the vehicles near Hyderabad and intercepted the above said foreign origin and non-duty-paid wrangler Jeep. The team asked the driver to show the documents of the legal import and possession of the vehicle but he failed to do so.
The ASO team deposited the impounded vehicle into the Hyderabad State Warehouse and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceeding.
The ASO raiding team comprised Superintendent Ghulam Shabbir Phulpoto, Inspectors Imdad Ali Abro, Abdul Majeed Barich, Muhammad Iqbal, Abid Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Hawaldar Muhram Thebo, Sepoys Nenomal, Umar Sulangi, Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ayoub, Sadique, Drivers Sher Akbar, Ajaz Ali and Nisar Ahemdani.
