Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC Corporation is expected to launch a new flagship Android 6.1 smartphone called the “Perfume” in the first quarter of 2016,” according to a report on the high-tech website Technobuffalo.
The new phone will be equipped with the faster Snapdragon 820 processor to run the company’s customized Sense 8.0 interface and come with a bigger 3,500 mAh battery and 4GB RAM, a 20.7-MP primary camera and a 5-MP secondary camera, and a 6-inch, 1440×2560 pixel resolution display, other sources revealed.
Quoting market rumors, a report on the website smartphone2016.com said the upcoming HTC device will have a lot of cool features, including fingerprint scanning that will enable highly secure user authentication.
The device is also expected to feature heart rate sensors.
As for the HTC Perfume’s launch date, Technobuffalo said it could be a while because Google has yet to even formally announce the Android 6.1 version of its operating system.
The Sense 8.0 is “still a mystery as well,” the website said. “We’re not really sure what to expect from the next version of HTC’s UI, though a fresh design and new apps are both possible.
Market observers expect HTC to launch its 2016 flagship smartphone in the first quarter, quite likely during the annual Mobile World Congress from Feb. 22 to 25 in Barcelona, Spain.
