SHANGHAI: Hong Kong stocks closed 0.27 per cent lower subsequent to another round of poor Chinese data, while Shanghai stopped a turbulent week on a high as shareholders bet on fresh stimulus measures to increase the mainland economy.
The Hang Seng Index shed 63.34 points to 23,249.20 on Friday on turnover of $HK76.89 billion ($A107.34 billion).
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.42 per cent, or 12.43 points, to 2,938.17 on turnover of 420.4 billion yuan ($A74.33 billion).
The index, which slumped more than five per cent on Tuesday, ended the week almost unchanged.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, rose 0.97 per cent, or 14.23 points, to 1,479.82 on turnover of 262.9 billion yuan.
It gained 1.73 per cent for the week.
