HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks have ended 0.39 per cent lower despite a record close on Wall Street and another rally in mainland Chinese markets.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index on Wednesday dropped 108.49 points to close at 27,585.05 on turnover of $HK137.78 billion ($A22.46 billion).
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.65 per cent, or 28.74 points, to 4,446.29 on turnover of 806.1 billion yuan ($A166.64 billion).
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 2.03 per cent, or 52.03 points, to 2,619.32 on turnover of 816.1 billion yuan.
