HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose 0.30 percent in the morning Friday, while Shanghai was also slightly higher after suffering a mauling in the previous session.
The Hang Seng Index added 83.39 points to 27,537.70 by the break on turnover of HK$90.21 billion ($11.64 billion).
In Shanghai the composite index, which plunged 6.5 percent on Thursday, edged up 0.12 percent, or 5.73 points, to 4,626.00.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 1.04 percent, or 28.64 points, to 2,785.57.
