Hong Kong Customs seizes 3kg of cannabis buds

Hong Kong: Officers of the Customs Drug Investigation Bureau conducted an anti-narcotics operation in Yuen Long and seized about three kilogrammes of cannabis buds inside a hotel room and arrested a man. The seized cannabis buds had a value of about $0.55 million.

The 40-year-old suspect, who claimed to be unemployed, was arrested for drug trafficking.

During the summer holiday, Hong Kong Customs will continue to step up enforcement action against all kinds of drug trafficking activities.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
