The port of Hong Kong saw its container throughput inched down in November compared to the year-ago level, according to statistics from the Hong Kong Marine Department.
In November, box volumes at the main Kwai Tsing terminal were recorded at 1.33m teu, down 1.5% compared to 1.35m teu registered in the same month of last year. Non-Kwai Tsing terminal volumes handled 360,000 teu, also down from 408,000 teu in November 2017.
In the first 11 months of this year, throughput at Kwai Tsing terminals came up to 14.16m teu, a decrease of 4.9% year-on-year, while throughput for non-Kwai Tsing terminals was at 3.8m teu, down 7.9%.
