GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team seized non-customs paid molding machines and different parts worth Rs8.50 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.
Sources told Customs Today on 17th December that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-customs paid molding machines and its parts from Gwadar to Afghanistan.
After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Saleem Ahmed, Tajuddin Bisra and others. The team, during a search operation on Highway Road, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no THD-9482.
During the search, the team impounded more than eight non-duty paid molding machines, and different kinds of machine parts valued at Rs8.50 million including truck being used in smuggling.
The team seized all smuggled items and arrested three smugglers while further investigations are still underway till filing of this report.
