GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate seized huge quantity of thick and thin cable wires bundles and other accessories worth Rs 9.45 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.
Sources told Customs Today on Thursday morning that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid thick and thin cable wires and other accessories from Gwadar to Karachi.
After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Noor Elahi, Kamran Bangash and others. The team, during a search operation on Bar Area, intercepted a truck bearing registration no TGD-281.
During search, the team impounded more than 100 bundles of non duty paid cable wires (German origin) and different other accessories valued at Rs 9.45 million including truck used in smuggling.
The team seized all smuggled cable wires and arrested truck driver, who were later identified as Mastung Khan. Sources told that customs official started investigations from accused person.
