ISLAMABAD: With the rise in cold and decease in Sui gas pressure, the retailer of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have been cashing in on the opportunity and charging Rs240 per kilogramme, adding to miseries of public and depriving them of alternative fuel.
Though the government has fixed LPG price per kg at Rs150, owners of the LPG stations have been selling it Rs240 per kg.
On the other hand, the district administration has geared up to take action to rein in the mafia and profiteers.
In this regard, special teams led by magistrates have been formed in different parts of the province where retailers of the LPG were overcharging from the consumers.
In many parts of Rawalpindi district including Chungi No 22 area, Bakran Mandi, Dhoke Syedian, Saddar, Raja Bazar and areas of Cantonment board the LPG is being sold over Rs200 per kg under the nose of district administration and Station commander of Rawalpindi.
