SIALKOT: The Gepco’s multi-phased “Enterprises Resource System Upgradation Program” had been lying in doldrums, as it has not yet been started and waiting for urgent “go ahead”.
Gepco had announced this program several years ago to computerize all the data of Gepco employees and consumers besides putting all the Gepco development projects online, with an estimate cost of Rs. 600 million, but despite the passage of several years , the project has not yet been started , which had been lying in doldrums due to some unknown reasons there.
THE Gepco senior officials added that the said project was also to help to halt the electricity pilferage in all the 115 Gepco sub divisions besides monitoring all the domestic, commercial, industrial tube consumers, as the data of all the 13000 Gepco employees was also to be computerized under this mega project.
When contacted, the Chief Executive Gepco Gujranwala Zahur Ahmed Chohan said that the above-mentioned project was still alive and was most likely to be started very soon.
